Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our travel vaccination service.

How far in advance should I book my travel vaccinations?
We recommend booking your consultation at least 6-8 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines - such as hepatitis B, rabies and Japanese encephalitis - are given as a course of doses over several weeks, so allowing enough time means you'll be fully protected before you leave. If your trip is sooner than that, please still get in touch: our pharmacist can advise on an accelerated schedule and prioritise the vaccinations that matter most for your destination.
Do I need a GP referral for travel vaccinations?
No referral is required. You can book directly with us as a private service. Our trained pharmacist will carry out a full travel health risk assessment based on your destination, itinerary and medical history, then recommend and administer the appropriate vaccinations - all in a single appointment.
How much do travel vaccinations cost?
The cost depends on the specific vaccines you need, which is guided by your destination, planned activities and vaccination history. After your risk assessment we'll explain exactly what is recommended and provide a clear, itemised price before anything goes ahead, so there are never any surprises. Please contact us for a quote tailored to your trip.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring a record of any vaccinations you have previously had, together with the full details of your trip - the countries and regions you will visit, your travel dates, and any planned activities such as trekking, safari or voluntary work. It also helps to bring a list of any regular medicines you take and any medical conditions, so we can give you safe, personalised advice.
Can you supply antimalarial tablets?
Yes. As part of your travel consultation our pharmacist will assess your malaria risk and, where needed, recommend and supply the most suitable antimalarial tablets for your destination, along with guidance on bite prevention and how to take them correctly.
